Paranormal Potential ranks are based % likeliness, which is determined by how likely a paranormal event has occurred in the location. % likeliness is based upon data collected, personal experiences, and historical research. These values are calculated into a percentage. Multiple case percent totals are averaged into a total percent. Totals begin at 1% and end at max 85% to account for human error. The current calculations yield:
No Activity Potential - Has been disproved by scientific means or little/no evidence was found. (1%-5% likely.)
Investigation - Ovid Home
Comments: On February 12, 2010 the NY team traveled to Ovid, NY to investigate a home with many paranormal claims. These claims were multiple apparitions seen, object movements and disembodied voices. When we started the investigation one thing that jumped out at us was the high EMF readings that were recorded. There were three particular instances that an apparition was seen and in each area we found high readings of EMF. The first claim was an apparition in the Grandparents’ room and we found that the EMF readings were about 2.5, which could cause hallucinations, nausea, paranoia or even headaches. The next two apparitions were seen inside of the daughter’s bedroom, one near the closet and one near her doorway. We found these also to be natural because of the high EMF readings that seemed to be high inside her entire bedroom. Again high EMF readings cause hallucinations, nausea, paranoia or even headaches. The object movement was of a door handle giggling and a Christmas tree that was pulled on. We found the door handle to be natural/inconclusive for there was no evidence to support or refute this however there is a possible explanation that a human could have been jiggling the door from outside. The Christmas tree we found inconclusive/natural, however the Christmas tree was not up at the time so we were unable to test possible natural solutions. A possibility could be from interference from their cats playing with the tree. Lastly, there was a disembodied voice heard in the living room which we found to be inconclusive/natural. We found no evidence to support or refute this claim. Due to the activity’s location, it is highly likely possibility that the noise was generated by the computer or one of the client’s children themselves. Even though there were a lot of claims that were found natural or inconclusive we still did have one noted as paranormal. About an hour into the investigation, one of the investigators knocked into a tray and knocked some of the items positioned there to the floor. She replaced them immediately and walked away. 15 seconds later a penny dropped onto the tray. The SP team couldn’t find any natural explanation at the time for the delayed penny drop. The NY team had multiple personal experiences between noises, temperature fluctuations, doors being opened while no one was in the room, feelings of nervousness and shortness of breath and shadow figures. Most of these were labeled to be natural because of the high EMF readings or inconclusive because of interference with the cats inside of the home. In conclusion the majority of the client’s claims which occurred on the first floor were easily de-bunked due to the high level of EMF on the first floor which came from the circuit breaker box and unshielded wires in the basement. There was, however, a large amount of Staff Personal experiences which were not easily de-bunked but also were for the most part not captured on camera. Because there is no video to back up the visual claims and object movements, they cannot be listed as evidence. Overall, the SP team sees it fit to do a re-investigation of the client’s home in order to better cover more active areas.
Investigation - Johnson City Home
After a full nights investigation, we were able to address the concerns of the client but could unfortunately not find any conclusive answers. Other explanations were instead found to support a more natural hypothesis for the activity - The shadowy apparitions seen were unfortunately not caught on any device. Low EMF was not to account for any type of hallucinations. One possible explanation given is that objects seen at the corner of one's eye can be mistaken for a humanoid shape, as the brain tries to decipher missing pieces of an object. This is a common occurrence when someone says they "See something out of the corner of their eye" and then its gone. The boxes moved in the attic were also unexplained. but we believe that the boxes were simply stocked in a position that was unstable. As attics tend to have loose foundations, especially during the cold winter nights and warmer days with contracting wood, it is possible the contents simply shifted and fell out. In terms of various voices and feelings heard/felt in some bedrooms, it was found that a high base EMF was located around the bed that went into the upwards of 2.4-5.8 milligauus. Sleeping in such a high base EMF may produce vivid hallucinations combined with dreams. Now with all of that being said, the case was not without its mysteries. During one part of the investigation, a flashlight was seen turning itself on and off on a bed. Batteries were checked on the flashlight and it appeared to be in normal working condition before and after the mysterious occurrence. At this time we do not have any natural explanations for why this would have occurred beyond a complete unusual malfunction of the flashlight for a short period of time. In addition, we discovered an audio clip of a female that may appear to say something. The voice of the female is in question however between paranormal and natural as other investigators were heard talking in a previous room. The clip may say the words "Please Help Me", but we leave the interpretations of the voice to the client as this is an ambiguous piece of data. Overall the SP team found many natural explanations for the claims that should alleviate the fear that the client was having in the home. Some recommendations we found to stop this phenomena would be to remove the client from the high EMF by moving around the furniture to avoid this base EMF spot. In terms of the activity found we were confused by this and would like to investigate this further.
Investigation - Return to Captain Grant Inn
While we were investigating, we quickly realized that the entire area had an entirely different atmosphere to it; a much quieter one. None of our original claims occurred during the case, which included possibly object movements and phantom footsteps. Our team did not pick anything up via audio or video on the case, and all EMF remained at constant normal levels. We did find one small possible cold spot that seemed to dissipate as quickly as it occurred, but it remained ambiguous. Overall - The team did not find anything to support paranormal claims or debunk them for that matter. We heard reports of the case having more activity in the afternoon and daytime. While our infrared cameras are less useful during the daytime, many claims occur around objects being moved, so this would not affect the data. The personal experiences the team had were a bit interesting. Such as during dead time a light was seen in the window of the master bedroom from the street. We unfortunately were unable to catch this phenomenon on video but interestingly there was no electrical equipment placed by the window which could have caused this. We also had a hand full of EVPs found within the house such as a faint voice that seemed to say “no” and a faint voice that seemed to give a reply to when an investigator asked a question to if the entity was still there. Also we were able to catch on the MiniDV showing a flashlight that would turn itself on and off a few times while no one was touching it. Overall, there was some evidence collected at the home which cannot be explained away naturally at this time. The moderate level of EMF in the home can explain a few claims of activity, like the names being called and the shadows seen, but not all of it. One thing that can be looked into to explain away activity is the possibility of animals finding a way into the home or even being trapped in hollow sections of walls. Regardless, the activity is not sever and is not threatening in any way. It may be unnerving, but it is not malevolent.
Investigation - Rome NY Home
After a full night of investigating the team walked away with a few interesting personal experiences such as a door that had opened in the upstairs hallway after the investigator passed by. We labeled this as a possibly paranormal experience because we were unable to repeat it no matter how much they placed their weight on floor boards around the door. Some of the investigators also felt chills, feelings of being touched, warm spots and a headache that occurred all in the upstairs hallway. The first two claims were labeled as possible paranormal yet inconclusive for it occurred during an EVP session and because there is no high EMF the SP team does not know what could have caused these feelings. The last two were labeled inconclusive for there was no evidence to support these or determine why they occurred. After a full analysis the team found one piece of evidence that may be paranormal. This is of a picture that was taken from the stairs at the end of the hall. Because it is not entirely solid it is slightly ambiguous. It however could have been created by some sort of blemish on the lens of the camera. But the interesting part is that the picture taken right after did not feature the same anomaly. In conclusion the SP team came into the case to evaluate the homeowner’s claims but also to compare them to claims unevaluated from pervious homes. Most of the activity may be attributed to high EMF. The SP team recommends the removal or replacement of objects in the home, like alarm clocks, which give off the highest EMF and which is the homeowner spends the most time around. In looking at the activity claims form precious locations, it is most likely that these are separate and isolated evens. Regardless, the activity which cannot be de-bunked at the present time is not malevolent in any way.
Investigation - Return to Johnson City NY Home
One new interesting piece of data we found from a thermal imager camera. A large blob like heat signature that appears as blue appears in a window, with no apparent reason. As it is blue, it is colder than the rest of the area., making this unlikely to be a person. It may be a temperature reflection however, so we are unsure on this image. We also located a possible EVP response in a bedroom, which again leaves us with more questions The SP team was able to find many natural solutions to their claims as well as new evidence that cannot be debunked. A recommendation of the SP team to stop some of the natural phenomena would be to move alarm clocks (where high EMF is present) farther away from where someone may sleep, as well as possible changing the location of the bed in the mother’s room to a spot with less EMF. Activity occurring must be looked at as a mostly natural phenomena, and any new activity must be looked at in comparison to areas of high EMF.

Investigation - Warners NY Home
We were able to do just that. Some claims had lights turning on and off. The SP team found faulty electrical equipment which could easily have manipulated lights within the entire room. In one room where object movement claims were found, an animal was discovered which could have caused accidental movements of objects. Other object movements were inconclusive. Some interesting audio clips, while not definitely paranormal, did have us questioning the area again even with a lot of the area being debunked. Four responses were caught in the son's bedroom where activity is thought to take place, one may even say the word "IT". Others may be indecipherable whispers, and as such, remains mostly ambiguous. Even still, with the strong amount of debunking in the area, we would have to conclude safety that this is more of a child's imagination getting the better of himself and the family than a paranormal source. UPDATE - Two confirmed deaths within the house have been discovered. This not only can fuel paranormal claims, but fuel people's imaginations. While it is impossible to say that someone dying in the home can increase paranormal activity, it has been statistically seen to increase the chance of it. However, with this knowledge, it inevitable leads someone to believe that many creeks and shadows are paranormal when it fact they aren't. Knowledge of death in an area is a very long double edged sword.
Investigation - USS The Sullivans Battleship
However, many claims seem to state that the ship is still quite active, at least with paranormal activity. Claims of activity from this ship mostly stem from the bunk areas where sailors would sleep. Some claims state that beds would fall off of their hinges, doors opening, voices and conversations heard through the ship, shadows in corners seen, and various other object movements. Utilizing a strong 8 camera infrared DVR setup, with dozens of audio devices, mobile infrared video, thermal camera, and various specialty equipment, we were able to wire the entire ship with extremely precise efficiency. However, nature was not on our side as a strong storm was approaching. Contending with high winds and rain, we finished the equipment setup and begin to investigate the area. Understanding that high winds and rain could become noise contaminators, we took to learn more about what might cause natural occurrences with paranormal claims on the ship. Many pipes were found to cause strange sounds and noises that could be mistaken for a voice easily, as well as voices being carried through pipes from one end of the ship to the other. One investigator thought he heard two male voices having a conversation in the engine room that was known to be empty. While no one was found to be above this area, it was possible for voices to carry through the pipes. The ships rocking during the storm waves were found to be very minor, which would most likely not contribute to any object movements. As the ship was dry-docked, there was little movement onboard. However, during equipment setup, all beds were intact. After our first team went into to investigate, one bed was found flipped on its side. To flip a bed off the hinge was difficult at best, as the bed would have to be manually raised 4-5 inches, and would take significant upward force. High winds would have difficulty (albeit not impossible) to accomplish this, although it should be noted the bed's area was not experiencing any winds as it was located below the ship. As this directly supports a paranormal claim from the client, we marked it as such. Another such time, a cabinet door was found unlatched and open. It would take someone to manually unlatch this door to open it. Two particular audio clips also were interesting, as one depicts a very loud bang or thud above a team investigating, with no apparent source. This was clearly an object, but was unable to be located. Another time a possible audio clip may say the words "Excuse Me", but due to ambiguity between another team-member, we could only label this as a possibility. Overall, the history of the ship was incredible as well as its layout. The claims on the ship are interesting, but remain mostly ambiguous. With storms to work with as well as a limited time-frame to investigate in, we were limited in our scope of the area, but remained optimistic that additional chances to investigate this ship (along with others in the bay area), could yield possibilities for greater data to support or refute these claims to separate fact and fiction.
Investigation Worcester Home
One object did come loose and fall to the ground in the kitchen during equipment setup, but because we did not have any equipment ready at that time, we could not determine how it had fallen. The rest of the home had normal levels of all temperature, EMF, and nothing recorded on audio or on video. At this time we were able to provide some natural explanations for some of the claims, but could not dismiss all of them. It was recommended that the client keep a journal of activity to document when and where activity occurs and to determine if there could be a natural component to this rather than jump quickly to say its paranormal.
Investigation Deep River Library
As the library was larger than 10,000 square feet, we decided to go with a larger DVR and audio setup, and used 12 DVR cameras with 10 audio devices to effectively cover the entire library. We decided to switch teams by having two teams of mixed males and females, and then two more teams of just all males and all females. This was done in case activity may only occur with one particular gender group, or if mixed. As with every case, we began to investigate possible natural causes for some of these claims. Some footsteps were heard on the second floor book storage area, so we looked for possible causes. There were multiple windows in this area which had long roof tops that extender to nearby trees. It was possible, and probable, that animals such as squirrels could climb through here and enter the library through small areas and could rustle around to cause noises. This was only one theory, and we did not locate any animals in this area. Very minor personal experiences occurred in the library, but towards the end of the night one all male investigation team did have their KII meter(s) respond intelligently to a few questions asked, but because it was only accurate 50% of the time, we had to rule this to be thrown out. Going back through data review did reveal some interesting surprises. We captured three different sets of possible EVP responses. Two of these were of a breathy whisper that say No, to two questions asked. The first occurred when an investigator asked if they could go upstairs and a loud prompt "NO" is heard on the recorder, located on the 2nd floor hallway. The second occurred when an investigator asked if it was too late to be in the library, and another fainter No is heard. The most interesting of all occurred when one investigator asked if there was supposed to be a kitchen upstairs on the 2nd floor and downstairs on the 1st floor. When she asks "Is this true" a voice, female, overlaps and says "No, it's not". As this voice was unique, and it would be highly unlikely if this voice was another investigator during an EVP session, we would rule this to be a possible paranormal EVP response. Finally, a less impressive light source was captured on the DVR camera in the 2nd floor book storage area. While brighter, larger, and more unusual than other light sources we've detected, because it appears to be moving slowly down and close to the IR lens, this may be a simple dust particle reflecting a high amount of light back into the lens. Overall, while our personal experiences were minor, we were impressed with some of the data recovered. We are not yet ready to say there is paranormal activity in the library, but the percentage was greatly increased with the discovery of some responses to questions. We would like to return later to the library to investigate further to see if we can increase or decrease this percentage.
